In Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra

Rawlins Davy is immensely proud to be teaming up with the world famous Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra to bring music back into care homes.

We are funding five BSO concerts at homes in Bournemouth and Poole as the Orchestra returns to its vital community work post pandemic.

The concerts are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

Mark Kiteley said: “We are absolutely delighted to support the BSO in taking music to care home residents once again after a long absence because of Covid.

“The Orchestra’s outreach initiatives are such an important part of what the BSO does and we are in awe of the difference it makes to people’s lives, both residents and staff.”

Mark added: “It is such a tangible example of the amazing power of music.”

The partnership with the BSO came about after Rawlins Davy commissioned a series of three nostalgia video films last year.

One of them featured the BSO which was established in Bournemouth 1893 and is a national and global cultural icon.

Mark added: “The video was released last September at a special event before a BSO concert and was incredibly well received.

“We really wanted the relationship with the BSO to continue and what better way to do that than by helping the orchestra in its invaluable community work.”

The BSO, based at Lighthouse Poole, is also renowned for taking music into hospitals and for its schools programme, linking up with thousands of pupils each year.

The orchestra has been recognised for groundbreaking work with Alzheimer’s patients.

Mark said: “Rawlins Davy itself was established in 1832 and it seems singularly appropriate that we should be supporting such a wonderful institution as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in what it does, not least in times that continue to be really challenging.

“I think we would probably all agree that community work, especially in the care sector, is more important than ever after everything that has happened in the past two years.”
