A special video highlighting the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s extraordinary work in care homes has been released.

The short film features a concert by two BSO musicians at Elizabeth House, Poole run by Care South.

It was one of several care home concerts during the summer funded by Bournemouth, Poole and Wimborne solicitors Rawlins Davy Reeves, who also produced the video.

Mark Kiteley, managing director of Rawlins Davy Reeves said: “It has been privilege to sponsor a number of concerts in care homes by the wonderful and iconic Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

“These events are just one part of the incredible community work delivered by the BSO every year, in health, social care, educational and other settings.

“These are groundbreaking initiatives that have received national and international recognition and awards.”

Mr KiteIey added: “I have been able to see at first hand the amazing and positive effect the care home concerts have on the residents and staff.

“We are immensely proud to help the BSO continue its mission to make a difference to people’s lives beyond the concert hall.”

The BSO’s Chief Executive, Dougie Scarfe, said: “We exist to bring music into people’s lives, and reaching those who are unable to come to the concert hall is clearly a huge part of this.

“As a registered charity we’re reliant on the support of partners like Tapper Funeral Service, who this year mark a decade of support for the BSO’s work in care homes, and Rawlins Davy Reeves, who have come on-board to expand the programme and help us reach even more people.

“This beautiful new film, featuring two of our brilliant musicians, Jenni and Kevin, really captures the essence of the visits and highlights the impact their live music-making has on local residents. We can’t wait to share it.”
