Our staff pets are playing a starring role in a video about making a will.
The cats, dogs, a rabbit, snake and a horse feature to emphasise the importance of remembering pets in your will.
The video is the idea of private client solicitor apprentice Becky Shale based in our Bournemouth office.
Becky said: “Pets are often overlooked when it comes to estate planning but there are lots of simple provisions we can put in place if a client lets us know about their animals.
“These can range from leaving a named guardian such as you would for children and setting aside funds for their care.
“For most people, pets are not just pets, they are members of the family.
“The video is really just aimed at reminding people not to forget them when they are having a will drawn up.
Becky added: “I also wanted the video to remind people that, while estate planning is a serious matter, the reason clients come to us for help is to protect their loved ones which is ultimately a really positive thing.”
