A new solicitor has joined the expanding residential conveyancing team at law firm Rawlins Davy Reeves.

Mum of girls aged six and two, Katie Owen graduated from the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University in 2010.

Before that she completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and a Finance and Law degree.

She qualified as a solicitor eight years ago and worked for two other legal practices before joining Rawlins Davy Reeves in Poole.

Katie said: “This is an exciting new challenge for me and I am very much looking forward to working with everyone. The company has a long history and is very well respected within the profession.”

She added: “This area is such a great place to work and to bring up a family. I am from Portsmouth, but I decided to stay in Dorset after leaving BU.”

Katie, whose parents both served in the Royal Navy, said she had tried different branches of the law, but settled on residential conveyancing some years ago.

She added: “You really have to be organised and have great attention to detail. Conveyancing is a process driven area of law, which I like.

“Buying and selling a property is a very significant milestone and generally a happy time for people but is usually also very stressful. People put their trust in you daily to get it over the line. It’s a great feeling when it’s completed and you get to tell them the good news.”
